TODAY'S CHIROPRACTORS
Today's Chiropractors offer a more progressive approach to today's health issues. Although the Chriopractic philosophy remains the same(or should), you may experience procedural differences from one doctor's office to the next. Variations in patient care can often be associated with the type of technique and equipment your Chiropractor utilizes within their office. However, poor reimbursement schedules(fees) to your doctor from your insurance company can often dictate patient care.
Today's Chiropractor will apply their education, skills and philosophies within their practice parameters in order to provide the best possible resolution of their patient's condition. Today's Chiropractors prescribe to the theory that pain, inflammation, dysfunction and even disease can be directly linked to the improper alignment (subluxation) of your spinal column and that providing a series of spinal manipulations or adjustments, will lessen the risk factors of chronicity or disease and at the same time increase the patient's functional capabilities in a shorter period of time then those treatments provided by traditional medical providers.
Every practicing Chiropractor has obtained their undergraduate requirements at a university (now a 4 year degree) followed by four years at an accredited Chiropractic College. Upon graduation, a Doctorate of Chiropractic(DC) degree is obtained. Further, state board exams must be passed to obtain a license in the state they wish to practice in and every year 20 hours of continuing education are manditory to maintain that license.
